Role: SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 5)
Contract: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: September 2026 (or ASAP)
Salary: Competitive rates of pay depending on experience

A welcoming and supportive primary school in NG17 is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a Year 5 class, providing targeted support to pupils with additional learning needs.

The Role

As a Year 5 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions.
Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement within the classroom.
Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
Monitor progress and contribute to pupil reviews and support plans.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting.
Has experience working with pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, or learning delays.
Is patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
Can work effectively as part of a wider support team.
Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant childcare qualification (desirable but not essential).
Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
