Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive and welcoming secondary school in Northampton who are seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join them from September 2026 on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on classroom experience, whether you are a graduate, aspiring teacher, or someone with experience working with young people. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress into a permanent school-based role following a successful initial period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations
  • Ensure students remain focused, engaged, and on task
  • Provide clear instructions to support learning activities
  • Report on student progress, behaviour, and engagement to teaching staff
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and productive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
  • Be confident managing a classroom environment
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and a calm, professional approach
  • Be committed to full-time, long-term work
  • Show reliability, adaptability, and strong communication skills
