MPS/UPS (£31,650 - £49,084 per annum, dependent on experience)

This is an exciting opportunity to teach across two engaging subjects, encouraging students to explore creativity, design processes, and visual communication while developing valuable practical skills.

The Role

As a Design Technology & Photography Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Design Technology and Photography across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Inspire students to develop creative thinking, problem-solving, and practical skills.

  • Teach students how to design, create, evaluate, and refine their work using a variety of materials, tools, and techniques.

  • Develop students' understanding of photographic processes, composition, editing, and visual storytelling.

  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.

  • Maintain a safe and productive workshop and classroom environment.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the department through enrichment activities, displays, competitions, and creative projects.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Have experience teaching Design Technology and/or Photography at secondary level.

  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for creative education.

  • Be confident delivering practical lessons while maintaining high standards of health and safety.

  • Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

  • Be committed to supporting students of all abilities to achieve their full potential.

  • Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and innovation to the classroom.
