A specialist education provision is seeking a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join its dedicated team supporting pupils aged 7-19 - Based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, this opportunity is available on both a full academic year basis and through flexible casual work to suit your availability.

The setting provides education through a therapeutic approach, with staffing carefully planned to match individual strengths, experience and professional interests. Whether you already have extensive SEN experience or are looking to build upon existing skills working with children and young people, you will be supported by an experienced senior leadership team committed to professional development.

What you'll be doing...

  • Supporting pupils throughout the school day to access learning successfully.
  • Working alongside teachers, therapists and wider professionals to deliver consistent support.
  • Encouraging communication, independence and positive engagement.
  • Assisting with classroom activities, practical learning and personalised interventions.
  • Helping to create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supporting enrichment opportunities and wider school activities where appropriate.

For those who wish to develop further, opportunities are available to train towards leading classroom activities, curriculum sessions and extracurricular provision.

What we're looking for...

The successful SEN Learning Support Assistant will have experience working with children or young people in either education, care or a related setting.

Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates who have:

  • Previous experience supporting Special Educational Needs
  • Recognised qualifications in SEN, Education or related subjects
  • A current KCSIE training certificate
  • An Enhanced DBS Check, subscribed to the DBS Update Service
