Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Towcester
Start Date: September 2026 | Full-Time | Permanent Position

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Towcester that is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school while making a lasting impact on pupils' educational journeys.

What the job involves:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2
  • Leading whole-class lessons and delivering planned learning activities in the absence of the class teacher
  • Working closely with teachers to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons and interventions
  • Providing targeted support for pupils requiring additional assistance, including those with SEND
  • Monitoring, assessing, and recording pupil progress to support achievement and development
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Adapting learning resources and activities to meet the individual needs of pupils
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENCO, parents, and other professionals to support pupil success

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience working within a primary school setting
  • HLTA status or a relevant qualification with experience appropriate to the role
  • Confidence in leading lessons and supporting learning across the primary curriculum
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and delivering positive outcomes for all pupils
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families
