Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Corby

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time / Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive school in Corby. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated education professional who is passionate about supporting pupils' learning and making a positive impact within the classroom.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, delivering planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, providing targeted interventions, and helping pupils to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities across a range of year groups.

  • Support pupils individually and in small groups to reinforce learning objectives.

  • Work closely with teachers to plan, prepare, and assess learning activities.

  • Provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning needs.

  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.

  • Support the wider school community and contribute to extracurricular activities where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • HLTA status or equivalent relevant qualification.

  • Previous experience working within a primary or secondary school setting.

  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
