Tradewind Recruitment is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Northampton seeking a dedicated Religious Studies Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time position, with the school ideally looking to appoint on a permanent basis, although fixed-term contracts and long-term supply arrangements will also be considered.

The successful candidate will teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will join a welcoming Humanities department that is committed to delivering engaging lessons which encourage students to think critically, appreciate diverse beliefs and perspectives, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.

The role will involve:

  • Teaching Religious Studies across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 teaching available

  • Planning and delivering engaging, thought-provoking lessons that promote discussion, debate, and critical thinking

  • Creating a respectful and inclusive classroom where students feel confident sharing and challenging ideas appropriately

  • Supporting students of all abilities to achieve their academic potential

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department to share resources and best practice

  • Promoting understanding of different religions, ethical viewpoints, and philosophical concepts through an engaging curriculum

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS/QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Have strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for Religious Studies

  • Be confident managing behaviour and creating a positive learning environment

  • Be committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive teaching that inspires all learners

  • Be suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
