Cover Supervisor - Secondary School

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to work within a secondary school in the Wellingborough area. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absences and ensuring students remain engaged with the work set.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects

  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment

  • Supervise students and support them in completing set work

  • Respond to questions and provide guidance where appropriate

  • Report on student engagement and behaviour to teaching staff

  • Uphold school policies and procedures at all times

  • Build positive relationships with students and staff

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • Confidence leading groups of secondary-aged students

  • A professional, adaptable, and resilient approach

  • The ability to work independently and use initiative

  • Experience working with young people is desirable but not essential

  • An interest in education and supporting student development
