We are working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Northampton that is seeking to appoint a committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated support team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers and pastoral staff, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a positive and engaging learning environment.
The Role
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of curriculum subjects
Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and improve confidence
Provide targeted support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and SEMH needs
Assist with classroom organisation and behaviour management, helping to create a calm and productive learning environment
Encourage students to become independent learners and develop resilience, confidence, and self-esteem
Support the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils throughout the school day
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and parents to ensure students receive the support they need
We Are Looking For Someone Who
Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Has experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally within a school or educational setting
Is patient, caring, and passionate about supporting young people
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Can build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
Is proactive, organised, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Has a positive approach to behaviour management and promoting inclusion
