We are working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Northampton that is seeking to appoint a committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated support team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers and pastoral staff, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a positive and engaging learning environment.

The Role

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of curriculum subjects

  • Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and improve confidence

  • Provide targeted support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and SEMH needs

  • Assist with classroom organisation and behaviour management, helping to create a calm and productive learning environment

  • Encourage students to become independent learners and develop resilience, confidence, and self-esteem

  • Support the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils throughout the school day

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and parents to ensure students receive the support they need

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

  • Has experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally within a school or educational setting

  • Is patient, caring, and passionate about supporting young people

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Can build positive relationships with students, staff, and families

  • Is proactive, organised, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Has a positive approach to behaviour management and promoting inclusion
