Unqualified Maths Teacher - Northampton
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term with Potential Permanent Opportunities
Pay: £100-£160 per day (dependent on experience and level of school support)

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in Northampton that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Unqualified Maths Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for Maths graduates, aspiring teachers, tutors, or individuals with strong subject knowledge who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience and begin their journey into teaching.

You will join a welcoming school environment where you will receive support from experienced teachers and have the opportunity to develop your teaching skills while making a positive impact on students' learning.

Your Role

  • Delivering engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 using provided schemes of work and resources

  • Supporting students in developing confidence, mathematical understanding, fluency, and problem-solving skills

  • Creating a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Adapting your approach to support students with different abilities and learning needs

  • Working closely with experienced Maths teachers and school leaders to develop your classroom practice

  • Providing additional support through intervention sessions and small group work where required

  • Contributing positively to the wider school community and professional development opportunities

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Mathematics, a related subject, or strong demonstrable Maths knowledge

  • A genuine passion for Mathematics and a desire to help students succeed

  • Experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, or similar settings (desirable but not essential)

  • Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students

  • A reliable, proactive, and adaptable approach to working in a school environment

  • A genuine interest in progressing into a teaching career

  • Suitable for candidates considering teacher training routes such as PGCE, SCITT, or school-based training programmes

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
