We are working in partnership with a highly regarded all through school in Northampton seeking an enthusiastic and talented English & Drama Teacher to join their successful department from September 2026. This is a full-time permanent opportunity, teaching students across Year 5 to Year 8 within a supportive, creative and ambitious educational environment.
This role would suit a teacher who can bring English and Drama to life through engaging lessons, while helping students develop their confidence, imagination and communication skills.
About the Role:
Teach engaging English and Drama lessons across Years 5-8
Deliver a creative and stimulating curriculum that develops reading, writing, performance and communication skills
Inspire students through a broad range of literary texts, creative writing opportunities and practical Drama activities
Encourage confidence, self-expression and critical thinking through performance, discussion and collaboration
Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that challenge and support students of varying abilities
Monitor student progress and provide high-quality feedback to support excellent outcomes
Create a positive classroom environment where students feel confident to participate and succeed
Contribute to the wider life of the school through productions, clubs, enrichment activities and events
Work collaboratively with colleagues within a supportive and well-resourced department
Who We're Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
Strong subject knowledge in English, with an interest or experience in Drama
Experience teaching English at secondary level (experience across Key Stage 2/3 or transition years would be advantageous)
A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning
The ability to inspire students and build strong relationships
High expectations for student achievement, behaviour and personal development
Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills
A commitment to contributing positively to wider school life
