We are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Long Buckby that is looking to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its team from September 2026. The school is hoping to appoint a permanent member of staff, although long-term and fixed-term opportunities will also be considered for the right candidate.

The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers to provide high-quality support both inside and outside the classroom. You'll help pupils build confidence, develop key skills, and enjoy a positive learning experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum

  • Working with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small intervention groups

  • Providing additional support for children with SEND and additional learning needs

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting an inclusive classroom environment

  • Supporting literacy, numeracy, and phonics activities

  • Helping to prepare classroom resources and learning activities

  • Promoting pupils' confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is enthusiastic about working with primary-aged children

  • Has a patient, caring, and positive approach

  • Communicates effectively with pupils, staff, and parents

  • Works well as part of a collaborative school team

  • Is reliable, adaptable, and committed to supporting children's development

  • Has previous experience working with children in schools, nurseries, childcare, coaching, youth work, or similar environments (preferred but not essential)
