1:1 Teaching Assistant - Kettering

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within a welcoming and inclusive school in Kettering. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in a child's educational journey and helping them achieve their full potential.

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team, you will provide tailored support to a pupil with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence, and thrive both academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day.

  • Assisting the pupil in accessing learning activities and the wider curriculum.

  • Supporting emotional wellbeing, social development, and independence.

  • Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs and support plans.

  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.

  • Building a strong, supportive relationship with the pupil while maintaining professional boundaries.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.

  • Knowledge of SEND and strategies to support pupils with additional needs.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
