Pay: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wellingborough that is looking to appoint a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

The school is ideally looking to appoint on a permanent basis, although long-term supply and fixed-term opportunities will also be considered for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is passionate about education and wants to play an important role in supporting pupils both academically and personally.

The Role

  • Supporting class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across the primary age range
  • Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, including children with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Supporting pupils with their learning, confidence and independence
  • Helping children remain focused, engaged and motivated throughout the school day
  • Supporting positive behaviour and contributing to a calm, safe and nurturing classroom environment
  • Assisting with targeted interventions in areas such as English and Maths
  • Supporting pupils who may require additional encouragement, reassurance or differentiated learning approaches
  • Helping with classroom preparation, resources and day-to-day routines
  • Working closely with teachers and other school staff to monitor and support pupil progress
  • Providing pastoral support and helping to promote positive relationships and wellbeing

  • Works well as part of a wider school team
  • Is reliable, flexible and adaptable
  • Can remain calm and positive in a busy classroom environment
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and the importance of pupil wellbeing
  • Has experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs, although this is desirable rather than essential
