Duties & Responsibilities

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support students during lessons and help them remain focused and engaged.

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.

• Work alongside teachers to support classroom learning.

• Encourage students to develop confidence and independence.

• Help students overcome barriers to learning.

• Provide positive encouragement and act as a positive role model.

• Support students with their academic, social and emotional development.

• Assist with classroom routines and activities.

• Build positive and professional relationships with students and staff.

• Help create a calm, positive and engaging learning environment.

What You Must Have

To be considered, you must have:

• A degree or equivalent qualification.

• Previous experience working within a school setting.

• A genuine interest in working with secondary-aged students.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A positive, approachable and enthusiastic personality.

• The ability to engage and build rapport with young people.

• A professional and reliable attitude.

• A valid DBS or willingness to complete the required safeguarding checks.
