Estates Manager
Salary: £35,000-£45,000 per annum
Full-time | 36 hours per week
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Trust Estates Manager to provide strategic leadership across the estates and facilities of a growing multi-academy trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced estates, facilities or property professional to take responsibility for a diverse school estate, ensuring that buildings, grounds and facilities provide safe, effective and inspiring environments for pupils and staff.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will work strategically with senior leaders across the Trust while also providing hands-on leadership to site and caretaking teams.
The Role
As Trust Estates Manager, you will oversee the management, maintenance and development of the Trust's estates across multiple schools.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing strategic leadership of the Trust's estates and facilities function.
Managing and supporting site, premises and caretaking teams across the Trust.
Overseeing external contractors and facilities management services, including cleaning, catering, grounds maintenance and hard and soft FM.
Managing and quality-assuring premises-related contracts and services.
Project managing building works, refurbishments and estates projects.
Supporting the CFO with capital investment planning and long-term estates strategy.
Managing and monitoring premises and estates budgets.
About You
We are looking for an experienced estates or facilities professional with the knowledge, leadership skills and commercial awareness to manage a multi-site education estate.
You will ideally have:
Significant experience in estates, facilities, property or premises management.
Experience managing teams and external contractors.
Strong knowledge of building compliance, health and safety and statutory requirements.
Experience managing budgets and procurement.
Experience of overseeing maintenance, refurbishment or capital projects.
Excellent organisational and project management skills.
The ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders, contractors and operational teams.
A proactive approach and the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
Experience within education or the public sector would be advantageous, although candidates with strong estates or facilities management experience from other sectors will also be considered.
