Teacher of English - Short-Term Cover - Widnes

Location: Widnes
Start Date: Monday 2nd November 2026, with potential further cover from Monday 9th November
Duration: 1-2 weeks

Are you a qualified Teacher of English available for short-term teaching work in Widnes? Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced English specialist to provide cover at a college in Widnes, starting on Monday 2nd November 2026, with the possibility of a second week commencing Monday 9th November.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated English teacher who can deliver engaging lessons and support students with their learning during a short-term cover period.

Position Details

  • Location: Widnes
  • Start date: Monday 2nd November 2026
  • Potential extension: Week commencing Monday 9th November 2026
  • Duration: One week, potentially extending to two weeks
  • Working hours:
    • Monday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
    • Tuesday: 8:15am - 4:30pm
    • Thursday: 8:15am - 4:30pm
    • Friday: 8:15am - 2:00pm
  • Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience and qualifications

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this Teacher of English role, you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English, ideally at GCSE level.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate learners.
  • The flexibility to commit to the required dates and working hours.

You will need

Candidates will also need an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (Child Workforce), two professional references, the right to work in the UK and overseas police checks where applicable.
