School Caretaker - St Albans, Hertfordshire - £90 - £140 per day - Immediate Start
Temporary, full-time | Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm | Until February half term (extension expected)
Tradewind Secondary are looking for a reliable, hands-on Caretaker to join the site team at one of our partner secondary schools in St Albans, Hertfordshire. The role starts as soon as possible and runs for a minimum of 6 weeks, with work expected through to February half term and a strong likelihood of extension.
What you'll be doing
- Opening and locking up school buildings
- General maintenance, minor repairs and DIY tasks
- Health & safety checks and keeping the site compliant
- Monitoring site security and reporting issues
- Liaising with school staff and contractors
- Setting up rooms and supporting school events
- Keeping the site safe, tidy and presentable [add "including some cleaning duties" if applicable]
What you'll need
- Previous caretaking, facilities or maintenance experience (school experience is a bonus, not essential)
- Availability to start now, full-time, until at least February half term
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (we can arrange this)
- Right to work in the UK and two references
- A practical, problem-solving approach and good health & safety awareness
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work on your own initiative
- Desirable: manual handling, COSHH, working at height or first aid certificates
