Inclusion Mentor - Northampton
Full-Time | Long-Term and Permanent| Start Date: September 2025
Are you passionate about helping young people feel heard, valued, and supported in school? Could you make a real impact on students who face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges?
We're partnering with forward-thinking secondary schools in Northampton that are looking for Inclusion Mentors to join their teams from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students who need extra support, helping them to feel more confident, settled, and ready to learn.
Your Role Will Include:
Supporting students who may struggle with behaviour, mental health, or attendance
Delivering targeted interventions and mentoring sessions on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
Encouraging positive choices and helping students develop social and emotional skills
Supporting reintegration into lessons and routines after periods of absence or exclusion
Contributing to support plans and progress tracking alongside pastoral and SEN staff
Acting as a trusted adult and positive role model, creating a safe space for students
Liaising with families, school staff, and external professionals to ensure joined-up support
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Has previous experience working with young people, ideally in a school, youth work, or mentoring capacity
Remains calm under pressure and is able to de-escalate challenging situations
Has a caring, understanding, and solution-focused mindset
Can build strong, respectful relationships with students who may have complex needs
Is reliable, proactive, and committed to inclusion and equality for all students
(Desirable) Has training or background in areas like behaviour support, safeguarding, or mental health
