Teaching Assistant - Further Education

Location: Northampton
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time | Long-Term Role

Are you passionate about supporting young adults as they prepare for the next stage of their lives? Would you enjoy working in a further education setting where your support can empower learners to gain confidence, independence, and real-world skills?

Dynamic and inclusive colleges in Northampton are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2025. The roles are full-time, long-term supporting students aged 16-25 across a variety of academic and vocational pathways, including those with additional learning needs.

About the Role:

  • Supporting learners across a range of subjects, including maths, English, ICT, and vocational courses

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to help students stay engaged and make progress

  • Assisting with study skills, assignment preparation, and classroom activities

  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and employability skills in line with individual learning plans

  • Working with students with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties

  • Collaborating with tutors, SEN staff, and external professionals to ensure effective support

We're Looking For:

  • Someone with a passion for working with young adults in education or training

  • Calm, reliable, and supportive individuals with strong communication skills

  • Previous experience in education, SEN, youth work, or care is highly desirable

  • A flexible, proactive attitude and the ability to build positive relationships with students

  • An understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education practices
