English Teacher - Northampton
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time | Long-Term or Permanent Position

Are you an enthusiastic English teacher with a love of language, literature, and inspiring young minds? Are you looking for a fresh opportunity to join a supportive and ambitious school community in Northampton?

We're working closely with several well-established secondary schools in Northampton that are seeking a talented English Teacher to join their teams from September 2025. This is a full-time role, suitable for experienced educators or confident Early Career Teachers (ECTs), offering the chance to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Delivering engaging, well-structured English lessons that develop students' reading, writing, and critical thinking skills

  • Planning creative schemes of work that bring literature, language, and poetry to life

  • Supporting pupils of varying abilities with targeted intervention and differentiated instruction

  • Marking and assessing in line with school policy to ensure student progress is tracked effectively

  • Creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters curiosity, confidence, and respect

  • Contributing to departmental planning, enrichment activities, and school-wide literacy initiatives

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent - applications from strong candidates working toward QTS are also welcomed

  • A passion for English and a clear commitment to helping students achieve their potential

  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to make English engaging and accessible for all learners

  • Excellent behaviour management and classroom organisation skills

  • A team player with a proactive approach and a desire to continuously develop professionally

  • Experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 is an advantage, but not essential)
