Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with Manual Handling training looking for a fulfilling role supporting children with additional needs? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking caring and reliable Personal Care Teaching Assistants to work across a number of special educational needs (SEN) schools in and around Northampton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in personal care, healthcare, or SEN support who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people. The schools cater for pupils with a range of complex needs, including Physical Disabilities (PD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism (ASC) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

The Role:

As a Personal Care Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide personal care support, including toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance.

  • Use safe and correct manual handling techniques to support pupils with physical needs (training essential).

  • Assist students in the classroom and during activities, promoting independence and confidence.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet each child's individual needs.

  • Foster a caring, inclusive environment that encourages every learner to reach their potential.

✅ Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young adults with additional needs (school, care, or healthcare settings).

  • Up-to-date Manual Handling training (essential).

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to care and learning.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport is preferred due to rural school locations.
