Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting passionate and resilient Alternative Provision Teaching Assistants to work within a range of alternative education settings across Northampton.

These provisions support students who may have struggled in mainstream education due to behavioural challenges, SEMH needs, or other barriers to learning. As an Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant, you'll help create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment that enables students to rebuild confidence and rediscover a love of learning.

You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored educational activities that support both academic and social development. This position would suit someone with previous experience in youth work, education, or behaviour support, and who thrives on making a difference. Every day brings variety and the opportunity to see genuine progress in students who simply need the right support and understanding.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH or behavioural needs

  • The ability to remain calm and confident under pressure

  • A positive, proactive, and adaptable approach

  • A genuine commitment to inclusive education
