Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking caring and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in schools across Northampton.

This is a permanent, full-time position working with students who may have complex learning, communication, or sensory needs. You'll work alongside teachers and therapists to create a supportive environment where every learner can develop confidence, communication skills, and independence.

Your day-to-day role will involve supporting students with academic learning, life skills, and sensory activities. You may assist with personal care, use of communication aids, and structured routines that help learners feel secure and successful. Full training is provided for all aspects of the role, including any additional care or support responsibilities.

This role would suit someone with experience in education, care, or health and social support who has a patient and empathetic nature. You'll be joining a warm, professional community where teamwork and compassion are at the heart of everything.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SLD, PMLD, or complex needs

  • A patient, nurturing and proactive approach

  • A willingness to learn and undertake relevant training
