Tradewind Recruitment are looking for passionate Speech and Language Teaching Assistants to work with children and young people across Northampton who have Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is dedicated to helping students develop essential communication and social interaction skills. You will work alongside teachers, speech and language therapists, and SEN staff to implement communication strategies that support each learner's progress.

Your responsibilities will include assisting students during classroom and small-group sessions, using communication aids, supporting expressive and receptive language development, and promoting inclusion through creative and engaging activities. The role requires patience, enthusiasm, and a natural ability to connect with young learners.

This position is ideal for individuals with experience in education, care, or communication support. Training will be provided for candidates who are passionate about helping students overcome barriers and find their voice.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children with SLCN, SEN, or communication needs

• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

• A patient, understanding, and encouraging attitude

• A genuine interest in supporting children's communication and learning
