Position: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO)

Location: Tower Hamlets

Contract: Full-Time, Contract Position

Start Date: ASAP or January 2026

Remuneration: Up to MPS6 with SEN 1 - Up to £282.49 daily Paid PAYE

With approximately one-third of pupils on the SEN register, the school takes pride in providing personalised, high-quality interventions and fostering a culture where every child can succeed.

The Role

As SENDCO, you will lead SEND provision across EYFS and Key Stage 1, ensuring the youngest learners receive the best possible support from the start of their school journey.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Leading and managing provision for children with SEND in EYFS and KS1.

Working closely with class teachers, parents, and external professionals to implement tailored interventions.

Monitoring the progress and outcomes of SEND pupils, ensuring effective strategies are in place

Providing guidance, coaching, and CPD to staff on SEND and inclusion best practice.

Championing the school's inclusive ethos and contributing to the wider strategic development of SEND provision.

The Team

You will join a collaborative inclusion team made up of two SENDCOs and an Inclusion Lead. The workload is thoughtfully distributed, ensuring a supportive and balanced approach across year groups.

About You

To excel in this role, you will need:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the National Award for SEN Coordination (or be working towards it).

Proven experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally in EYFS or KS1.

Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.

A strong commitment to inclusion and the wellbeing of all pupils.
