Early Years Teaching Assistant - Southwark, South East London
Start Date: November 2025
Contract: Long-term (for the academic year)
Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Daily Rate: From £100 per day (PAYE) / equivalent to £120 via Umbrella

Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be working with a welcoming and community-focused mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Southwark, who are seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their team for the remainder of the academic year.

This long-term role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting young learners in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The school offers excellent resources, a supportive leadership team, and a strong sense of community, making it an ideal environment to grow your skills and make a real difference.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils in the Early Years setting, both in class and during group or individual activities

  • Assisting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they have the right support to thrive

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver engaging learning experiences

  • Helping to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an Early Years or SEN setting

  • A genuine passion for working with young children

  • A CACHE Level 3 qualification (or similar) is desirable but not essential

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
