Early Years Teaching Assistant - Southwark, South East London
Start Date: November 2025
Contract: Long-term (for the academic year)
Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Daily Rate: From £100 per day (PAYE) / equivalent to £120 via Umbrella

Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be working with a welcoming and community-focused mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Southwark, who are seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their team for the remainder of the academic year.

This long-term role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting young learners in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The school offers excellent resources, a supportive leadership team, and a strong sense of community, making it an ideal environment to grow your skills and make a real difference.

The Role:

Supporting pupils in the Early Years setting, both in class and during group or individual activities
Assisting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they have the right support to thrive
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver engaging learning experiences
Helping to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an Early Years or SEN setting
A genuine passion for working with young children
A CACHE Level 3 qualification (or similar) is desirable but not essential
Strong communication and teamwork skills
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
