Are you an experienced and inspiring leader with a passion for transforming the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs? Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with a range of exceptional SEN schools across Northamptonshire, each seeking dynamic and committed leaders to guide their teams, drive improvement, and create nurturing environments where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
With rapid growth across specialist and alternative provision settings, the county now offers a variety of leadership posts - ranging from Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher roles to SENCO, Head of Department, and Pastoral/Behaviour Lead positions. Whether your expertise lies in curriculum development, behaviour and inclusion, safeguarding, or whole-school strategy, these opportunities enable you to shape high-quality, child-centred education within supportive and forward-thinking environments.

You will play a vital role in building strong relationships with staff, families, external agencies, and - most importantly - the young people who depend on consistent, compassionate leadership.
Each school offers:
A collaborative, mission-driven senior leadership team
Opportunities to influence whole-school strategy and culture
Smaller class sizes and therapeutic support structures
Professional development and pathways to further leadership
A tangible chance to make lasting, measurable impact
We are seeking candidates who:
Have proven leadership experience within SEN, PRU, alternative provision, or mainstream with strong SEND exposure
Are passionate about inclusive practice, wellbeing, and positive behaviour approaches
Thrive in environments where creativity, resilience, and emotional intelligence are essential
Can lead teams effectively and inspire excellence
Hold relevant qualifications (e.g., QTS, NPQ, NASENCO)
If you are ready to take the next step in your leadership journey - whether you're an aspiring SENCO or an experienced Deputy Head - Tradewind Recruitment would love to hear from you.
