SEN Classroom Teacher - Kettering Area

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Classroom Teacher to join a highly supportive specialist school in the Kettering area. This setting supports pupils with a wide range of complex needs, including cognition and learning difficulties, communication challenges, autism spectrum conditions, physical needs, and social, emotional and mental health needs.

About the Role
You will be teaching in a structured, well-resourced specialist environment designed to meet the needs of pupils aged 11-18 with a range of learning profiles. Class sizes are small, and a strong team of support staff is in place to assist with personalised learning and care.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons that reflect individual EHCP outcomes
Using creative, multisensory approaches to support communication, regulation, and engagement
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may require additional emotional support
Working closely with therapists, pastoral staff, and support assistants to develop cohesive learning plans
Creating a calm, predictable classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and confident
Tracking progress in a way that recognises academic, social, emotional, and independence-based achievements
Who We're Looking For
We welcome applications from teachers with experience in SEND as well as those from mainstream who have a strong interest in specialist education. The ideal candidate will be:
Patient, empathetic, and resilient
Skilled in adapting teaching for a range of abilities and communication needs
Confident in using behaviour-supportive, relationship-based approaches
Committed to holistic development, not just academic outcomes
A reflective practitioner who values teamwork and continuous improvement
QTS/QTLS is preferred, but teachers with equivalent qualifications and strong SEN experience are encouraged to apply.
