Year 5/6 Primary Teacher needed from February 2026 - July 2026
Location: Thornton-Cleveley's
Contract: Full-time (Term Time Only)
Hours: Monday - Friday | 08:30 - 16:00 with some after school parent report responsibilities (paid).
Pay: starts at £168.80 per day

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Year 5/6 Teacher to join our team at our larger-than-average community primary school in the heart of Thornton-Cleveley's. The Role: Upper KS2 Specialist
We are looking for a practitioner who understands the unique balance of the final years of primary school combining rigorous academic preparation with a nurturing approach.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
SATs Expertise: You must have prior experience and a deep understanding of SATs preparation, including the delivery of mock exams and targeted interventions to ensure pupils feel confident and prepared.
Upper KS2 Experience: Prior experience teaching Year 5 or Year 6 is essential to hit the ground running with the National Curriculum requirements for this phase.
Curriculum Delivery: The ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that utilise our extensive outdoor spaces and local interest points.
Aspiration: A teacher who can inspire children to achieve their best and support their transition to secondary school.
Candidate Profile
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
A proven track record of raising attainment in Reading, Writing, and Maths, experience with phonics, SPAG and national curriculum guidelines.
A warm, professional character who aligns with our "child-first" ethos.
Strong classroom management skills suited to a larger community school setting.
