SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
School Type: Specialised Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Provision
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only

Are you a resilient, empathetic, and patient individual looking to support children who face significant barriers to learning? We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Blackpool.
In this role, you won't just be helping with classwork; you will be building transformative relationships with pupils (aged 7-16) who have complex social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will be the steady hand that helps them navigate their school day, manage their emotions, and unlock their potential.
Your Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH, ADHD, or Autism.
De-escalate challenging behaviors using therapeutic and calm-centered approaches.
Implement EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) goals tailored to individual student needs.
Foster a safe and inclusive environment where students feel heard and supported.
Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress and adapt learning materials.
What We're Looking For
Experience: Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults (SEMH, Youth Work, Care, or PRUs).
Character: A thick skin, a great sense of humor, and an unwavering commitment to safeguarding.
Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 TA qualification is preferred, but relevant "life experience" or specialised training (e.g., Team-Teach or Step-On) is highly valued.
