What is a Cover Supervisor?

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play a key role in keeping the school day running smoothly when teachers are absent. With lesson plans already prepared, your focus will be on maintaining a positive classroom environment, keeping students engaged, and supporting learning outcomes.

Key Duties Will Include:

  • Supervising classes across a variety of subjects (KS3 & KS4)

  • Ensuring students remain on task and complete the work provided

  • Managing behaviour in line with school policies

  • Reporting any issues or concerns to senior staff

  • Supporting wider school routines such as break duties and hallway supervision

  • Being a positive and consistent role model for students

Who We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, youth work, coaching, etc.)

  • Confident classroom presence with good behaviour management skills

  • Calm, adaptable, and able to respond to unexpected situations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Reliable, punctual, and professional

  • Genuine interest in education and supporting student development
