Finance Officer
Location: Secondary Schools across Merton
Contract: Full-time, 5 days per week
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join a group of inclusive and supportive secondary schools across the London Borough of Merton. About the Role
As a Finance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the school(s), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across day-to-day finance processes. You will work closely with senior leaders and school staff, contributing to the smooth running of the school environment and supporting positive outcomes for students.
Key Responsibilities
Processing invoices, purchase orders, and payments
Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciliations
Assisting with budget monitoring and financial reporting
Supporting payroll and expense processes where required
Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures
Liaising with suppliers, staff, and external stakeholders
About You
Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
Confident using financial systems and Microsoft Excel
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A professional, proactive, and solution-focused approach
Experience in an education setting is desirable but not essential
