Behaviour Mentor

We are seeking a calm, resilient, and committed Behaviour Mentor to join our supportive secondary school in the London Borough of Merton.

This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about helping young people overcome behavioural, emotional, and social barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small group behaviour support to students

  • Support students with SEMH needs and those at risk of disengagement

  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders to promote positive behaviour strategies

  • Support students in lessons, inclusion units, and during unstructured times

  • Act as a positive role model, building strong and trusting relationships

  • Help students develop self-regulation, resilience, and social skills

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have experience working with children or young people with behavioural or SEMH needs (desirable but not essential)

  • Be calm under pressure, patient, and consistent

  • Have strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

  • Be confident supporting students both in and out of the classroom
