Welfare and Wellbeing Support Officer
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time, term-time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a secondary school in the Wellingborough area to recruit a Welfare and Wellbeing Support Officer to join their dedicated pastoral team.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting young people's emotional wellbeing, engagement, and personal development. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing targeted pastoral support and helping to remove barriers to learning.
The role will involve:
Providing one-to-one and small-group wellbeing support to students
Supporting pupils with emotional, social, behavioural, or mental health needs
Acting as a trusted adult for vulnerable or at-risk students
Working closely with pastoral staff, safeguarding leads, and external agencies
Supporting attendance, behaviour, and reintegration where required
Maintaining accurate records in line with safeguarding procedures
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with children or young people in a pastoral, care, or education setting
Be calm, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships quickly
Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Be resilient, organised, and able to manage sensitive situations professionally
Be committed to promoting student wellbeing and inclusion
