Design & Technology Technician

Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time, term-time (part-time considered)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a secondary school in the Wellingborough area to recruit a Design & Technology Technician to support the delivery of high-quality DT lessons across the department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, organised individual with strong technical skills to play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning within Design & Technology.

The role will involve:

• Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for DT lessons

• Supporting staff and students during practical sessions where required

• Maintaining, servicing, and safely storing tools and machinery

• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within workshops

• Managing stock levels, ordering materials, and maintaining inventories

• Supporting the upkeep and organisation of DT classrooms and workshops

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working in a workshop, technical, or school-based DT environment

• Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures

• Be practical, reliable, and well organised

• Be able to work independently and as part of a team

• Have experience with materials such as wood, metal, plastics, textiles, or food technology (desirable but not essential)
