Head of Geography
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September / ASAP
Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a secondary school in the Kettering area to recruit an ambitious and inspirational Head of Geography to lead and develop a successful humanities department.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Geography teacher or current subject leader looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will play a key role in curriculum leadership, teaching and learning, and raising standards within Geography.
The role will involve:
Leading the strategic development of the Geography curriculum across KS3 and KS4
Teaching Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
Monitoring student progress and outcomes to drive improvement
Supporting, coaching, and developing staff within the department
Contributing to whole-school priorities and standards of teaching and learning
The ideal candidate will:
Hold QTS and have strong subject knowledge in Geography
Have experience of teaching Geography at secondary level
Demonstrate leadership potential or experience within a department
Have a proven track record of raising attainment and progress
Be committed to high expectations, inclusive practice, and professional development
