Head of Music
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September / ASAP
Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a secondary school in the Kettering area to recruit an inspirational and committed Head of Music to lead and develop a vibrant and successful music department.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Music teacher or current subject leader to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will be responsible for curriculum leadership, enrichment, and raising standards in Music across the school.
The role will involve:
Leading the strategic development of the Music curriculum across KS3 and KS4
Teaching Music across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
Promoting extra-curricular music opportunities such as ensembles, performances, and productions
Monitoring student progress and outcomes to drive improvement
Supporting and developing staff within the department
Contributing to whole-school priorities and the wider cultural life of the school
The ideal candidate will:
Hold QTS with strong subject knowledge in Music
Have experience teaching Music at secondary level
Demonstrate leadership experience or clear leadership potential
Be passionate about musical education and student enrichment
Have high expectations for student achievement and participation
