Tradewind Recruitment is working with a number of welcoming and supportive secondary schools in Northampton who are offering exciting full-time opportunities for Science graduates to join their teams from February 2026.
This role is ideal for aspiring teachers who want to build confidence in the classroom, support students in Science, and gain valuable school-based experience ahead of routes such as PGCE, SCITT, or School Direct.
The Role
As a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support the Science department across Key Stages 3 and 4
Work with small groups or on a 1:1 basis to reinforce key scientific concepts
Assist with classroom teaching, practical experiments, and lesson preparation
Help with marking and providing feedback under the guidance of qualified teachers
Take part in wider school life, including STEM clubs, revision sessions, and science enrichment activities
The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
A Science-related degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar) with a 2:2 or above
A positive, professional, and approachable attitude
Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
A genuine passion for education and inspiring young people
A clear ambition to pursue a career in teaching
Reliability, enthusiasm, and commitment to working in a school environment
