Unqualified Science Teacher - Northampton
Location: Northampton
Start Date: February or March 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Placement
Daily Rate: £100-£160 (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Secondary schools across Northampton are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals to join them as Unqualified Science Teachers from February or March 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates and career-changers to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive secondary school environment.
Whether your specialism is Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related scientific discipline, this role will allow you to build confidence, develop teaching skills, and make a genuine impact on students' learning.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Delivering and supporting Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Explaining scientific concepts clearly and engagingly
Supporting practical investigations and classroom experiments
Encouraging analytical thinking and scientific curiosity
Managing classroom behaviour with support from experienced staff
Assisting with lesson preparation, marking, and assessment
We're Looking For:
A degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biomedical Science, or similar)
A strong interest in education and working with young people
Confident communication skills and a positive classroom presence
Adaptability, initiative, and willingness to learn
Individuals considering teacher training routes such as PGCE or SCITT
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
