Science Lecturer - Northampton (Secondary Schools)

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with well-regarded secondary schools across Northampton who are seeking dedicated Science Lecturers to teach at Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for KS5). These full-time roles are available on both a long-term and permanent basis, offering supportive environments for lecturers moving from FE, sixth form, or industry into schools.

The Role

As a Science Lecturer in a secondary setting, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities may be available)

  • Teach your specialist subject area - Biology, Chemistry, or Physics - while supporting across the wider curriculum where required

  • Encourage curiosity, analytical thinking, and practical investigation skills

  • Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of mixed-ability classes, including SEND learners

  • Track student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback

  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and enrichment initiatives such as STEM clubs and science fairs

The Ideal Candidate

You will have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, QTS, QTLS, or equivalent), or relevant lecturing experience

  • A degree or strong academic background in a Science-related subject

  • Experience teaching or lecturing in Science (FE, sixth form, or school settings welcome)

  • Strong classroom presence and behaviour management skills

  • A passion for STEM education and inspiring young people

  • A collaborative and adaptable approach to working within a school environment
