Site Caretaker & Lettings Supervisor | Blackpool | £18.26 per hour
Join a supportive large secondary Blackpool Academy as a School Caretaker. Manage maintenance, H&S, and our busy evening lettings program. This is a consistent Monday - Friday (14:00 - 21:00) shift offering a competitive hourly rate.
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to manage the facilities, maintenance, and safety of a large Academy in the Blackpool area. This role is unique as it combines traditional site maintenance with the management of our evening community lettings.
The start date is Monday 30th March with a handover day attended on the Friday Prior - 27th March 2026.
Working Hours & Pay
This is a premium-rate late-shift vacancy designed for someone who enjoys a mix of facilities management and community interaction.
Pay Rate: £18.26 per hour
Hours: Monday - Friday, 14:00 - 21:00 (2pm - 9pm)
Total: 35 hours per week
- Contract Type: Temporary (Expected till September 2026).
Key Responsibilities
Lettings Management: Acting as the primary point of contact for community groups hiring the school hall. You will manage access, welcome guests, and ensure the site is used professionally and respectfully.
Event Setup: Responsibility for setting up the school hall (seating, equipment, or staging) to meet the requirements of various evening bookings and community events.
Site Security: Overseeing the transition from the school day to evening use and ensuring a full, secure lock-up of the entire premises by 21:00.
Health & Safety: Conducting evening compliance checks and ensuring all external hirers adhere to safety protocols.
General Maintenance: Handling reactive repairs and coordinating with evening cleaning staff to ensure the school is ready for the next morning.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Background as a Caretaker, Site Supervisor, or in facilities management/trades.
People Skills: Since you will manage hall rentals, you should be a friendly, professional communicator who can represent the school to the public.
Reliability: Someone dependable who can take full responsibility for the evening site closure and hall security with minimal absence.
Practical Skills: Ability to handle minor repairs and a solid understanding of H&S regulations.
