I am currently working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Enfield that is seeking dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistants to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with Team Teach training who are passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.

About the School
The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils aged 7-16 who have SEMH needs and associated behavioural challenges. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, consistent and supportive setting where students can re-engage with learning and develop positive coping strategies.

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider pastoral team to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs

  • Supporting students with emotional regulation and behaviour management

  • Implementing behaviour support plans consistently

  • Assisting with de-escalation strategies in line with Team Teach principles

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils

  • Supporting academic progress across a range of subjects

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds valid Team Teach training (essential)

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs

  • Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills

  • Is calm, resilient and able to respond effectively in challenging situations

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
