SEN Class Teacher - Corby

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and passionate SEN Class Teacher to join a supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Corby after the upcoming half term. This exciting opportunity is being offered through Tradewind Recruitment and is ideal for a teacher who is committed to supporting pupils with additional learning needs and helping them reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will work closely with a team of experienced teaching assistants, SEN specialists, and school leaders to create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

This role requires a teacher who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about inclusive education. Experience working in SEN settings or supporting pupils with additional needs is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative and differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of SEN pupils

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to provide effective classroom support

  • Develop and implement individual learning plans and EHCP targets where appropriate

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly

  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development alongside academic learning

  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals when required

  • Contribute to the wider school community and maintain high standards of safeguarding and wellbeing

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working with SEN pupils or within a specialist setting is highly desirable

  • Strong understanding of differentiation and inclusive teaching practices

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills

  • A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach to teaching
