Geography Graduate - Northampton
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Start Date: April or September 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time Only
Pay Rate: £95-£120 per day (dependent on experience)

Are you a Geography graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a secondary school setting?

We are working with a number of secondary schools across Northampton who are looking to welcome Geography Graduates into their Humanities departments from April or September 2026. This role offers a great opportunity to build classroom experience and could lead to teacher training in the future for those who wish to pursue it.

About the Role
This is a full-time, paid position where you will support teaching and learning within the Geography department. You'll work closely with experienced staff, developing your confidence and skills while gaining valuable insight into school life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Cover lessons using pre-prepared materials when required
  • Support students through one-to-one and small group interventions
  • Help maintain a focused, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Support with lesson preparation, resources, and general departmental duties
  • Build experience that can support future career pathways, including teaching

Who This Role is Ideal For

  • Graduates in Geography or closely related subjects such as Environmental Science or Earth Science
  • Individuals with experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, coaching)
  • Strong communicators who are confident working in a classroom environment
  • Those exploring a potential career in teaching, without the immediate commitment to training
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and proactive individuals
