Job Description

Learning Support Assistant

Northamptonshire

Flexible work patterns

Are you a caring, patient, and adaptable individual with a passion for supporting children and young people? We are looking for Supply Learning Support Assistants to work across our partner schools, providing vital support to pupils with a range of needs.

This role is ideal for individuals with mixed experience, whether gained in schools, care settings, youth work, or through personal experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We value diverse backgrounds and recognise that transferable skills are key in making a positive impact.

As a Supply Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to support pupils in their learning, development, and emotional wellbeing. You may assist students with different communication methods, including non-verbal communication, Makaton, or visual aids, so a willingness to learn and adapt is essential.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience supporting individuals with SEND (school-based, care, youth work, or personal)
  • Are empathetic, resilient, and patient
  • Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Are flexible and able to adapt to different school environments
  • Have a proactive and positive approach to supporting learning

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference while gaining valuable experience in a variety of educational settings.

All placements are arranged through Tradewind Recruitment, offering ongoing support and access to opportunities that suit your availability.
