We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join our specialist SEMH school in Corby. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils who require additional emotional, behavioural and social support to succeed in education.
Working as part of a committed multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, develop emotional regulation and build confidence in a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in lessons and around the school
Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual student needs
Help implement strategies that support behaviour, wellbeing and engagement
Promote positive relationships and encourage personal development
Support students with managing emotions, routines and transitions throughout the school day
Assist teachers in delivering engaging learning activities and interventions
Work collaboratively with pastoral staff, teachers and external professionals
Contribute to a safe, supportive and inclusive school environment
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs
Calm, resilient and able to build strong professional relationships
Understanding of SEMH, trauma-informed practice or behaviour support approaches
Experienced in education, youth work, care or support roles (desirable)
A positive role model with strong communication skills
Committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
