We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Maths Teacher Trainee to join our school, gaining hands-on experience through a blend of Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor work while preparing for a future application to SCITT teacher training and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

The Role

As a Graduate Maths Teacher Trainee, you will:

  • Support students in mathematics lessons as a Teaching Assistant, working with individuals, small groups and whole classes

  • Deliver pre-planned maths lessons and supervise learning as a Cover Supervisor when required

  • Support students to develop confidence, numeracy skills and progress in mathematics

  • Gain practical experience in lesson delivery, classroom management and behaviour for learning

  • Work alongside experienced maths teachers and receive mentoring and coaching

  • Develop the skills and experience needed to progress onto a SCITT programme

  • Contribute to raising achievement and engagement in mathematics

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds a degree in Mathematics or a related subject

  • Is considering a career in teaching and wants to train as a Maths Teacher

  • Is keen to gain classroom experience before starting teacher training

  • Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young people in maths

  • Is confident, proactive and eager to develop professionally

  • Has experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
