Music Teacher (KS3 & KS4) - Long-Term Supply - Secondary School - Wigan
Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming, values-led secondary school in the Wigan area to recruit a passionate Music Teacher for a long-term supply role. The post is due to start after May half-term and will run until 6th July (in the first instance). You will be teaching Music across KS3 and KS4. Daily pay is up to £232.56 per day, depending on experience.
About the role (Music Teacher - Wigan)
- Deliver high-quality Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, aligned to the National Curriculum and GCSE expectations.
- Plan, prepare and assess learning to ensure strong progress for all learners.
- Create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment that promotes participation, creativity and excellent behaviour for learning.
- Support performance and composition work, including the effective use of music technology where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with the Creative Arts team to maintain high standards and consistent routines.
- Start date: after May half-term | Duration: until 6th July (initially).

The Music department
Music is valued as a key part of the school's wider Creative Arts offer. The curriculum is designed to develop pupils' musical creativity through composition and performance, underpinned by listening and appraisal across a wide range of musical styles, genres and cultures. Students build confidence through solo and ensemble work, develop instrumental and vocal skills, and learn to evaluate and refine performances. What we're looking for
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
- Recent experience teaching secondary Music across KS3 and ideally KS4 / GCSE Music.
- Strong subject knowledge across performance, composition and listening/appraising.
- Confident behaviour management and the ability to establish positive relationships quickly in a supply / long-term role.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Tradewind).
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
