Teaching Assistants & Cover Support | Blackpool & Fylde
Launch your education career for September 2026!
Are you looking to get your foot in the door of a local school? While many wait until the end of summer to look for work, savvy professionals start now. Joining Tradewind Recruitment ahead of the new academic year allows you to secure your reputation in our partner schools and bypass the September staffing rush.
What to Expect: Supporting Our Schools
Stepping into a school environment is both rewarding and fast-paced. When you work through Tradewind, you aren't just "filling a gap"-you are becoming an integral part of a child's educational journey. Here is what your day-to-day might look like:
Empowering Learners: You will break down complex tasks into manageable steps, helping students overcome hurdles in Literacy and Numeracy to reach those "lightbulb moments."
Behavioural Role Modelling: You will use positive reinforcement to manage low-level classroom disruption, ensuring a focused and calm environment for all.
Social & Emotional Support: Particularly in SEN and EYFS settings, you will be a stable, trusted adult helping children navigate social interactions and emotional regulation.
Resource Innovation: From prepping festive displays to adapting a worksheet for a student with Dyslexia, your proactive nature will keep the classroom running like clockwork.
Where You Can Work
We partner with a diverse range of settings across Blackpool and the surrounding Fylde Coast, offering you the chance to find the environment where you truly shine:
Primary Schools: Experience the magic of EYFS play-based learning or the academic rigour of Year 6 SATs prep.
Secondary Schools: Support older students in subject-specific lessons or lead the class as a Cover Supervisor.
SEN Schools: Specialist settings (including ASC and SEMH provisions) for those dedicated to making a difference in complex needs.
Roles Include: 1:1 Support, SEN Specialist, General Classroom TA, EYFS Practitioner, and Secondary Cover.
The Tradewind Advantage
Competitive Pay: Earn £14.25 - £16.50 per hour via PAYE. (Rates vary depending on role, setting, and responsibility).
No Umbrella Companies: We pay you directly, no hidden admin fees or surprise deductions.
2,500+ Free Courses: Access to The National College to boost your CV with certified training in Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, and more.
The September Head-Start: Get known by schools during the transition period to be first in line for permanent roles.
Dedicated Support: 1-to-1 guidance from Kara Gardner, your local education expert.
Could This Be You?

Whether you are a Qualified TA (Level 2/3), a Graduate seeking classroom hours before your PGCE, or a career-changer with transferable skills and a passion for supporting young people, we want to hear from you.
